Kia has officially entered the compact electric MPV space with the 2025 Kia Carens Clavis EV, a stylish, feature-packed alternative for Indian families looking to switch to electric mobility. While the Clavis nameplate may be new, the approach is familiar—practicality with a premium touch.

Design and Interior

The Kia Carens Clavis EV carries a clean, upright stance with LED DRLs, closed-off grille, and neatly designed bumpers. Its boxy proportions help create a spacious cabin without making the car feel bulky. At the rear, the connected LED taillamp adds a modern feel. Inside, the dashboard follows a clean layout with dual 10.25-inch screens—one for the infotainment and the other for the instrument cluster.

The materials feel better than what we usually see in this segment, and there’s ample headroom and legroom for five adults. Rear AC vents, wireless phone charging, and multiple USB-C ports make it a family-friendly cabin.

Performance & Battery

Kia offers the Kia Carens Clavis EV, with a 45 kWh battery pack powering a single motor setup producing around 120 PS. It’s tuned for city use, and initial pickup is smooth and quiet. On highways, the car remains stable, although not sporty.

Real-World Range & Charging

While ARAI claims 465 km, in mixed driving conditions, we managed around 310-330 km on a single charge, which is respectable for daily use. Fast charging (DC) takes the battery from 20% to 80% in about 50 minutes, while a home wall box takes around 6-7 hours.

Features and Safety

The Kia Carens Clavis EV, comes loaded with features including a 360-degree camera, connected car tech, auto climate control, and a sunroof. On the safety front, you get 6 airbags, ABS, ESC, hill-hold assist, and ADAS Level 1 features like lane departure warning and front collision avoidance in top trims.

Price & Verdict

Prices for the Kia Carens Clavis EV, start around ₹14.9 lakh and go up to ₹17.5 lakh (ex-showroom). While it’s slightly pricier than some EV hatchbacks, you do get better space, more features, and the assurance of Kia’s service network.

Final verdict? If you’re a city-based family looking for a spacious, well-equipped electric vehicle with decent range, the Kia Carens Clavis EV, is worth a serious look.
