Tata Motors has officially launched the facelifted version of its popular compact SUV – the Tata Punch Facelift 2025. Known for its rugged design and urban practicality, the Punch has been a favorite in the budget SUV segment. With the latest update, Tata aims to bring more value and style to the table. But can it really stand next to bigger rivals like the Hyundai Creta?
Design Refresh: Still Compact, Now Sharper
The updated Punch gets a redesigned front grille, new LED DRLs, and tweaked bumpers that give it a slightly more premium look without losing its compact charm. The boxy yet sporty stance continues to make it look tough for its size. Tata has also added new alloy wheel designs and dual-tone color options, which help it stand out on city roads.
Feature-Rich Interior for Its Segment
Step inside and you’ll notice subtle improvements. The cabin now comes with a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system (in top variants), automatic climate control, and a 7-inch digital instrument cluster. Other features include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, rear camera, and connected car tech in select trims. While the space remains the same, the seating comfort and material quality feel better than before.
Engine and Performance
Under the hood, the Tata Punch facelift continues with its 1.2L Revotron petrol engine, producing around 88 PS and 115 Nm of torque. It’s available with both a 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox. While it’s not meant for performance, the engine is refined and fuel-efficient, with a claimed mileage of around 20 km/l, making it suitable for city and occasional highway drives.
Can It Compete With Creta?
The Hyundai Creta is clearly a size and segment above, with more powerful engines and a more spacious interior. However, for buyers looking for a compact SUV with SUV-like looks, good features, and affordable pricing, the Punch facelift offers serious value.
Price and Final Verdict
The Tata Punch facelift is priced from ₹6.49 lakh to ₹9.25 lakh (ex-showroom). While it may not beat the Creta in size, it does deliver a lot for the price, especially for urban users who want SUV styling and practicality without the higher cost.
