Tata Sumo 2025

Tata Motors has officially brought back the Tata Sumo 2025, giving a fresh spin to one of India’s most iconic utility vehicles. The new model holds onto the Sumo’s original tough DNA, but gets a much-needed update in both design and features to meet modern expectations.

Rugged New Design with a Familiar Identity

The 2025 Tata Sumo now looks more muscular and mature while retaining its classic upright SUV stance. It features a boxy silhouette, wide wheel arches, and a flat bonnet – perfect for those who like a no-nonsense design. The new front grille is finished in matte black with Tata’s updated logo. LED DRLs and projector headlamps add a modern touch, and the overall stance feels bold and purposeful.

Spacious Cabin with Modern Touches

Inside, the new Sumo gets a completely refreshed dashboard layout with a digital instrument cluster and a touchscreen infotainment system. While the overall theme remains functional, you now get USB ports, power windows, rear AC vents, and improved seat cushioning for long drives. The cabin remains spacious, offering ample room for passengers in all three rows.

More Powerful Diesel Engine

Under the hood, Tata has equipped the Sumo 2025 with a 2.2L turbo diesel engine, tuned to deliver better power and refinement than the outgoing version. The engine is expected to produce around 138 PS and 320 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The SUV remains rear-wheel driven, catering to both city and rural users.

Improved Mileage and Safety

The new Sumo is expected to deliver a mileage of around 18–19 km/l, which is quite reasonable for a large vehicle in this category. On the safety front, dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, and a stronger body structure are now standard.

Tata Sumo 2025 Price & Verdict

The Tata Sumo 2025 is expected to be priced starting from around ₹13.77 lakh (ex-showroom). It’s an ideal choice for those looking for a rugged, spacious, and practical SUV with a touch of nostalgia. With its powerful engine and modern updates, the new Sumo feels ready for both family duties and rough roads.
